Sexual dysfunction in men refers to problems experienced during sexual intercourse. At Aashray, various effective treatments are offered to help men suffering from sexual dysfunction.
Male sexual dysfunction is a physical or psychological problem that inhibits one from having a satisfactory sexual relationship. It is a common men's health problem that gets more common with the increasing age.
Factors such as illness, medications, stress, and other psychological problems are responsible for causing sexual dysfunction in men. Experiencing difficulty in erection or ejaculation at some point in life is normal, but if the problem persists for a longer period, then it is necessary to consult your urologist as it can affect your sexual health and relationship.
At Aashray Urology Institute, we provide various effective treatments for different types of male sexual dysfunction and help you maintain a healthy sexual life.
Erectile dysfunction (ED)/Impotence is the inability to get and sustain an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse. It is a common type of male sexual dysfunction and becomes more common with age. However, it is important to understand that ED is not a natural part of the aging process. If ED persists, it can cause low self-esteem, anxiety, and stress. It may also affect the quality of an intimate relationship.
Dr. Ashit Shah, the chief urologist at Aashray Urology Institute, has listed down symptoms of erectile dysfunction (ED)/ impotence. They are as follow:
Following causes can lead to ED:
Penile blood flow studies by Doppler (PARKS, U.S.A.): Penile blood flow studies by Doppler, is a high-performing, non-invasive or minimally-invasive imaging modality. Functional changes in penile arterial blood inflow and venous blood outflow, and nerve dysfunctions, are the main factors that cause ED. Penile blood flow studies by Doppler allow the urologist to diagnose the cause of ED and the degree of its severity.
Aashray Urology Institute provides safe and effective treatments for Erectile Dysfunction (ED)/ Impotence such as -
The treatment involves implanting the device surgically inside the penis which allows men to get an erection. These devices are of two types - semi-rigid and inflatable. The function varies for each of these devices and has several advantages and disadvantages. Penile prosthesis implantation is recommended to men who have tried other ED treatments but did not get the desired results.
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), also referred to as shockwave therapy, is a non-invasive and effective treatment for vascular erectile dysfunction. ESWT has the potential to improve and permanently restore erectile function by improving penile blood flow.
Vacuum therapy is another non-invasive and effective treatment for men with ED that involves using a penis pump, also called a vacuum pump, to get or maintain the erection for sexual intercourse. A penis pump consists of a vacuum cylinder, a manual or battery-operated pump attached to the tube, and a constriction ring or band. Erection is achieved by creating a vacuum using the cylinder and the pump, and to maintain the erection, a constriction ring or band is used. Vacuum therapy won't cure ED but it might help achieve an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse.
Anejaculation is defined as the inability to ejaculate semen. Men with this condition can produce sperm, and they might experience a normal orgasmic sensation, but no semen gets ejaculated through the penis during sexual climax. It can be a primary anejaculation- total absence of ejaculation from the beginning of the sexual response, or secondary anejaculation - having occasional or situational ejaculation issues.
Following are the causes that can lead to anejaculation:
Ischemic priapism, also termed as low flow priapism, is a persistent erection resulting from the trapped blood in the penis or erection chambers. If ischemic priapism lasts longer than 24 hours then it is considered as a case of emergency. It must be treated in a time-sensitive manner otherwise it will lead to injury or permanent erectile dysfunction (ED).
Dr. Ashit Shah, the chief urologist at Aashray Urology Institute, has listed down symptoms of ischemic priapism. They are as follow:
